Breakfast

Not sure what it means, but the eggs all have this printing on them! Perhaps it has something to do with when and where they were laid? Also, one can choose eggs here based on what the chickens who laid them were fed... corn, rice, etc. The eggs seem to be less uniform in size, and are generally a little smaller.

I asked my coworker Rachel (who is from Beijing - her husband is from Shanghai), and she translated the eggs as follows:

Sheng-di-le (brand name) green eggs

Some kind of street dealer environmentally safe or organic eggs.

The writing on eggs is definitely not what we are used to here and I have never seen chicken eggs that color before. But then again, Asian Americans might be looking with the same bewilderment at our snow white blank eggs all the same size in a cardboard carton.

All I know is the media over here is trying to scare everybody about chinese imports right now. From dog food and tooth paste to fish and chicken.

If I see those eggs at Costco, I am not buying them....unless it's too good a deal. ha. "Eggs 40% less than the supermarket but you have to buy 4 dozen and ignore the color and chinese writing"!

We miss you guys and are praying for you and a speedy recovery for Gwen!

Love,

Uncle
