Again with the countdown

Last week was spring break.  We were in Dumangas, a small town in the Philippines, for a missions trip with a group of families from our church.  I'm putting together a post about our time there.  Before the trip, Scott noted that when it ended and we returned to Shanghai, the race to the finish would really begin.  He meant that once the trip was behind us, Caleb's graduation and our move would be looming.

They are!  There are no other "big things" left between today and these two monumental events in our near future.  There is still plenty going on, for sure, including two track meets for the boys, lots of business travel for Scott, all the regular final quarter of the school year events for the girls.  Exams, shopping for proper graduation outfits, the arrival of all four of the grandparents for their first grandchild's graduation.  Figuring out logistics of shipments and all the accompanying paperwork.  Sorting and purging of stuff, and more sorting and inventorying. Walks and coffee and lunches with friends.  Homework and dinner.

And then it will be over.  We are less than two months from that final flight home from Shanghai, the one I have imagined and dreaded for a couple of years.  But from where I sit now, I honestly feel good about it all.  Good about the years here, good about the weeks left and all that will fill them, and good about the move back.

Sigh (of contentment).  :-)

Friends - we remember these feelings and dynamics well! Know that y'all are in our prayers and each moment coming up is special and precious. Give hugs to the family for us and we'll see you soon stateside!

Its a thing to be continually pondered. Not a once and done thing. Love.

That contentment is His gift to you. And your writing, as ever, a gift to us. Thank you!
