Sameness

There are Polly Pockets swimming the bathroom sink right now, left abandoned in water that has cooled. There is laundry folded on the family room floor, waiting to be taken upstairs and put away. There is a bank statement, checkbook, and receipts waiting to be reconciled on the kitchen counter.

I think that things like this will stay the same, wherever we live, be it in the USA or the PRC.

You make me cry.... for the realization of many things and afterall, there will be comfort in the sameness even if you can't find it in the grocery stores. No matter where you are - in China or in the states, as parents, we will always have bathtoys floating, checkbooks to tackle, laundry growing in stature and scent, and the ache to want to just stop and read a story to our little ones...and when we don't have those "other things" we will be longing for these days. How quickly it is passing! So let's just sit down and read one more book with our kids....
And I read in Psalms this morning, "God you are my refuge and my shield; I have put my hope in Your word. " Ps.119:114
