- We adopted our youngest child, Gwen, from the Sichuan province in China in 2005, making our family SIX. In 2007, we were given the opportunity to move to Shanghai, where we lived for just a few weeks shy of five years. Now we are back in the Chicago area and readjusting to life in the US!

Hello! We just visited Jamestown, VA this week! So cool to stand where the first pilgrims stood. In the very same spot, as our guide said, Pocahontas did cartwheels.

I thought of you all today while visiting Williamsburg. One of the colonial characters was carrying around a chicken and petting it as if it were a pet. She kept saying that it was from China. Seems we can't get away from China these days. Love and miss you much. -Shann
