We had a great ride this morning, though, cranking the worship songs and chatting. The faculty was in the parking lot to greet the students as we pulled in, but I still couldn't stop my tears as he got out of the car and walked in alone, to the beginning of his new high school experience. I feel like our years in China have helped my kids be so courageous in many ways... he will be fine, and I know God has great things for him in this new place. Still hard for this mama's heart to see him start out into this new thing alone. Can't wait to pick him up at 2:50 and hear how it went.
Today is also Caleb's first day of classes at Valpo. No first day picture this year! He did text me a pic of his dorm room last night, a little more put together than we left him in it on Saturday. :-)

Love that he has his Concordia bag. I see my kids going through those same steps of courage that prepare them for the next bigger step of courage. Jalen starts middle school next week and she has found out that none of her close pals are on her floor or classes. The anxiety and crying have not ceased. Hard for a mamma to not make the school switch her schedule and to live my words of trusting that God knows something better for her. Jason talks to the kids a lot about moving back to China in the near future. 50% of them hate the idea. I often use your family as an example of how God worked things for good and in a powerful way. Love to you as you support your children in their independence.
One year in and Jason and Austin both tend to have something with the Concordia logo nearby. Praying for a wonderful experience for all the kids and a smooth adjustment for you. Miss you all!
Wonder how long it'll take for his entourage to find him. We love Seth.
