Cows in the Karsts

One of the days we were in Yangshuo with Justin and Mary, we went on a guided hike through a group of karsts. The scenery was amazing and the hiking fairly strenuous. Every now and then we would come upon a small farming village, hidden away in the hills. Several times we encountered mountain goats tripping around on the rocks nearby.

Here we met a local woman on the trail driving several cows ahead of her. We wondered where she was headed and how far she and her cows would be trekking along the rugged path. Note the homemade basket muzzle on the cow in the picture below!
